Jon Xue Zhang is an actor. He portrayed the supporting character, Blood Boots, in the Netflix original series, The Brothers Sun.

General Overview[]

Jon had been a stunt performer on numerous productions, such as 47 Ronin, 24, Dr. Strange, Eternals and Kraven The Hunter.[1] In addition to the performance side of things, Jon had taught at colleges and universities, such as City of Oxford College, Oxford Brookes University, and SAE Institute, to deliver lectures on fight choreography and screen fighting as a guest lecturer. On the television side of things, Jon had worked on series such as The Continental, CBBC's The Wonton Warrior, Silent Witness, Eastenders, Gangs of London As a producer, Jon had worked on independent projects, such as At the End of the Road, Scarlet and Mr. Mimoto, which had done exceptionally well on the festival circuit.[2] Brad Falchuk went onto mention about recalling that their casting agent found Jon, through watching clips of someone else, and he was a stunt player in the background. When Brad read for the part, “he was worried because he had an English accent when he spoke English, and we were like, ‘Speak with an English accent, it’s great.’ ” Zhang loves that Blood Boots “is so chilled out, but he’s also so lethal". Moreover, Brad's co-star. Justin Chien, considered Jon his best friend on set, calling him “a lovely, stand-up guy, a giant teddy bear (who could legitimately obliterate you if you crossed him), Zhang also trained Chien in his own time". Jon’s favorite Chinese snack is white rabbit, and go-to-boba order is “the sweetest thing I can possibly get.”[3]
