Justin Chien is a Chinese-American actor. He portrays the main character of Charles Sun in the Netflix original series, The Brothers Sun.
General overview[]
Chien studied at the University of Southern California's BFA program, where did several stage productions including "a six-hour production of The Kentucky Cycle". Outside of his acting venture, Chien is also a practicing martial arts master. The five-foot-eleven actor star has practiced Muay Thai for the last 10 years and is a blue belt in jiu-jitsu which he has trained in for the last four.[1]
As a result, Chien revealed that his background in martial arts made some of the action scenes in the Netflix series a bit easier to film.[2]
Apart from acting, Chien has also dabbled in directing and writing as well. Prior to his work on the hit Netflix series, he helped co-direct a short titled Continuum, a project he also wrote and co-produced, which saw minor success being selected for several film festivals including the 2019 DisOrient Asian American Film Festival of Oregon. He also has written two shorts, Continiuum being one in 2018 and Reverallium in 2017 being another one.
